Do you need to pay a deposit to rent a hospital bed?

No. The deposit for renting a hospital bed from Yaya Katil Hospital Prihatin is RM0 for every rental duration, including a one-month rental. Payment is collected after the bed has been delivered and set up at home. If you choose an instalment plan, it is also signed after delivery. What you pay is the monthly rent for the bed: RM150 for the Standard 2 Function (M15), RM250 for the Flexi 3 Function (M08) or RM450 for the 3 Function Auto (M10). One-way delivery within Malaysia costs up to RM280, and the actual charge is confirmed on the quotation for your address. Across 642 hospital-bed rentals completed between March 2025 and April 2026, the median rental lasted 31 days, and the middle half lasted 19 to 83 days. So most families pay rent for one to three months. Ask for a written quotation showing the RM0 deposit, the monthly rent and the delivery charge before the bed is delivered.

When you pay

  1. You receive a written quotation stating the model, duration, RM0 deposit and delivery charge.
  2. The bed is delivered and set up at your address.
  3. Payment is collected after that. If an instalment plan is used, it is signed after delivery.
Check the quotation: the payment method, schedule and any collection charge are still written down. That does not mean payment is taken up front.
